For the second straight week the Golden Eagles won two straight volleyball matches. Squaring off against the same two teams they hosted in Founders Hall Gym last Saturday, the Navy and Gold did it in style without allowing their opponents to win a set.

The Golden Eagles set the tone for the day early in their opening match against Penn Highlands. The Black Bears won a set last time they met, but this time the Eagles won in three with scores of 25-18, 25-15 and 25-8 on the strength of excellent serving and blocking.

Corinne Sanders (Dover, OH / Dover) and Mya Blochlinger (Millersburg, OH / Hiland) had 11 kills apiece while Lilli Peterson (Mineral City, OH / Tuscarawas Valley) added 8. Blochlinger also added six service aces of the team season high total of 13.

Megan Stotzer (Mineral City, OH / Tuscarawas Valley) had 19 assists, while Blochlinger led the way with 14 points and Alyssa Hughes (Mogadore, OH / Mogadore) and Jamie Myers (Grove City, OH / Grove City) both added 10.

In the final match at Westmoreland County Community College in Youngwood, PA, the Eagles also swept the Wolfpack 3-0. The opening set was close before KSU Tusc used runs of four and five points to take control 22-13. The hosts rallied to within 23-19 after going on a 6-1 spurt of their own before the Eagles closed out the set by scoring the last two points.

The last two sets were not close as the Eagles won both 25-11, 25-11.

Blochlinger had 14 kills (25 for the day) and Lilli Peterson 10 (18 on the afternoon), while Megan Stotzer (Mineral City, OH / Tuscarawas Valley) had 18 assists and a total of 37 enables for the tri match.

Jamie Myers had 13 points (23 total) and Blochlinger 11.

Next weekend the Golden Eagles (4-4) host Clark State and Potomac State in a home tri match.
