Taliyah Johnson Recognized As All-American

PITTSBURGH, PA --- Nov. 14, 2022 @ 3:00 p.m.

The United States Collegiate Athletic Association (USCAA) released their post season awards after the USCAA Volleyball National Championships in Virginia Beach, VA, over the weekend and one KSU Tuscarawas volleyballer earned all-american status.

Golden Eagles freshman, middle/outside hitter, Taliyah Johnson, has received USCAA Honorable Mention All-American honors. Johnson's impact on a freshmen laden team was very evident, as she finished ranked 14th overall in kills with 168 and was 16th in kills per set with 2.80 on a total of 461 attacks. She was also 24th in points with 187.5 on the season scoring 3.1 points per set. She was no stranger to the back row and ended the season with an average of 2.3 digs per set as well.

Johnson is a graduate of McKinley Sr. High and is the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Julius (Teleatha) Johnson of Canton, OH.

The Golden Eagles completed their fall season with a 12-7 record and finished ninth in the national rankings, just missing an invitation to the national tournament.
