Bears Spaulding Signs With Golden Eagles Volleyball

 Kent State University at Tuscarawas is announcing the signing of a 2023 River View High School senior to their volleyball team.

Alivia Spaudling recently signed a National Letter of Intent to play for the Golden Eagles.

Spaulding, primarily a middle hitter, was a three-year letter winner for the Lady Bears. She was a team captain during her senior year, earned Second Team Muskingum Valley League (MVL) honors along with being named Honorable Mention District 5, as well as a District 5 All-Star. During her senior season she finished with a .295 hitting percentage---8th in the MVL---and was also 9th in kills (238) and 10th in blocks (53).

She was the 2022 River View Homecoming Queen and has been a member of TLC (Teen Leadership Corps) for 2 years focusing on servant leadership and helping in the community. TLC undertook several community service projects such as, Empty Bowls and Adopt-A-Highway. Spaulding has also helped with the children's program at Clary Gardens the last couple summers.

She will pursue a Bachelor's degree in criminology and justice studies at Kent State Tuscarawas.

"Liv is a very talented young lady who also happens to be a wonderful player and teammate," said Cortney Goodwin, Head Volleyball Coach for Kent State Tuscarawas. "She is a great leader and definitely fills a need at the net for us. We are very excited to add her leadership, athleticism and experience to our team ."

Kent State Tuscarawas is a sixth-year member of the United States Collegiate Athletic Association (USCAA).
