It didn't take long for the Golden Eagles volleyball team to establish a flow to their dual match with Word of Life Bible Institute on Thursday night. As a matter of fact, you could almost say that the Eagles helped themselves to an extra serving or two in a 3-0 straight set win over the visiting Huskies from Pottersville, NY.

In the first set, the navy and gold quickly jumped out to a 17-5 lead as they warded off any effects from a nearly two-week layoff. They were just four points of taking the opener when WOLBI rallied back to 21-9, but the Eagles righted themselves taking a 1-0 match lead with a 25-15 win.

The second set was much the same and was highlighted by three consecutive service aces by Nicole Simons and three no-doubt kills by Alivia Spaulding helping KSU Tusc to a 15-5 advantage. With Addison Gordon at the service line, the Eagles went on a 10-point tear to take a commanding 22-5 lead. They held the Huskies to a single point the rest of way for a 25-6 win.

With the score 1-1 early in the third set, Kylie Culbertson toed the service line and when her rotation came to an end, the Eagles had scored 18 straight points for an 19-1 lead. She was aided by a couple of wonderful cross court kills by Lizzy Keller, some aggressive put-down kills by Spaulding and Ailes along with strong blocking by Taliyah Johnson.

The win raised the No. 2 ranked Golden Eagles record to 14-2 on the year---the most wins in a season since they joined the USCAA seven years ago---and with just three matches left on the schedule they await an invitation to the USCAA National Championships.

On Saturday the Eagles travel to take on WVU Potomac State (17-3) in Keyser, WV.
