Kent State Tusc lost both games of a doubleheader at Bryant & Stratton Cleveland on Sunday afternoon, losing 8-1 and 16-4 in between the raindrops in Solon.

Charlie Drumm got the lone hit---a single---for the Golden Eagles through the first five innings in the opening game and Mason Eicher gave up just three hits over six innings as the visitors struggled offensively but stayed within reach. The Eagles did not get another hit until AJ Boshears singled in the sixth, while BSC scored single runs in the first, fourth and fifth innings as they built a 3-0 lead.

In the third inning the Eagles left the bases loaded after Drumm and Kyle Stotzer drew walks and Owen Poland reached on an error by the third baseman. It was the best chance they had to score until the seventh inning. Unfortunately for the Eagles, BSC exploded for five runs in the bottom of the sixth inning on five hits highlighted by a triple and a double to break open a close game.

Eicher reached safely in the top of the seventh after being hit by a pitch. Trevor Boggess pinch ran for Eicher and scored on a double ripped to center field by Owen Poland for KSU Tusc's only score of the game but avoided the shutout. The Eagles could only manage three hits.

The Bobcats scored runs in each of the first five innings of the second game as they amassed 14 hits on the strength of a three-run homer and a grand slam before the mercy rule was put into effect.

KSU Tusc scored a single run in the top of the second on AJ Boshears third homerun of the season and second in as many days. The hosts had scored four runs in the bottom of the first inning before Boshears went yard.

After BSC scored three tallies in the home half of the second, the Eagles got three runs of their own in the top of the third. Drumm singled, Stotzer earned a walk and Boshears was hit by pitch to jam the bases full. Jacob Bialecki walked to force home Drumm and Owen Nunnally reached on an error by the second baseman as Boshears and Stotzer raced home with two more Eagles runs. Two runners were left stranded as KSU Tusc trailed 7-4.

In the bottom of the inning, the Bobcats got three more runs via the long ball and they added four more runs in the fifth on the big four-run blow.

Boshears was 1/2 at the plate with a homer and Sebastian Hanlin and Drumm both had singles.

AJ Boshears rounds third and gets congrats from Coach Jarvis after hitting a solor homer.
