A 73-56 victory by PSU York over PSU Brandywine in the Penn State University Athletic Conference basketball championship has propelled the KSU Tuscarawas Golden Eagles into the USCAA National Championships for the first time.

The Golden Eagles have now secured the No. 9 overall seed and will face No. 8 Seed, Southwestern Adventist University of Dallas on Monday, March 7th at Virginia State University in Richmond.

On Saturday afternoon, the Golden Eagles, who are 18-8 on the season and ranked No. 7 in the USCAA Coaches Poll, took to the road for a game at No. 4 seed Miami Hamilton and beat the Harriers for the second time this season. It was a bit of a statement game for the Eagles who matched up against USCAA Top 10 teams seven times this season winning every game, thinking they should have made the tournament on their own merits.

KSU Tuscarawas is one of seven teams to receive an at-large bid and join three automatic qualifiers from the Penn State University Athletic Conference, the Hudson Valley Intercollegiate Athletic Conference and the Yankee Small College Conference.

Tournament play begins on Monday, March 7th at 10:00 a.m. in the 6100 seat Multi-Purpose Center at VSU. A first-round loss eliminates a team from championship contention, but all teams are guaranteed a minimum of two games in the tournament. Consolation brackets will match losing teams with the chance to play for third and fourth place overall.

The Golden Eagles count down the PSUAC Championship ending.
