Two Golden Eagles Earn All-American Honors

On the eve of the USCAA National Basketball Championships at Virginia State University near Richmond, the USCAA Coaches recognized two Kent State Tuscarawas basketball players as All-Americans.

Junior guard, London Cobbs from Chicago, IL, earned a USCAA Second Team All-American award and led the Golden Eagles in scoring with 14.6 points per game. Cobbs scored 364 points on the season and successfully made 44% of his field goal attempts. In addition, he made 77% of his free throws, shot 33% from behind the arc, grabbed 4.5 rebounds per game and dished out an average of 2.4 assists.

DeJuan Lawrence a junior center from Akron, OH, recorded 16 double-doubles on the year and received an Honorable Mention All-American nod. He ranked first in the USCAA in blocks (66) and was also first in offensive rebounds with 114. He finished the regular season second overall in rebounds per game (10.7) and total rebounds (278). Lawrence made 54% of his action shots and 66% of his free throw attempts.
