Kent State University at Tuscarawas is announcing the signing of a 2022 Lake Center Christian High School senior to their basketball team.

On May 9, Ethan Bower signed a National Letter of Intent to play for the Golden Eagles.

Bower, primarily a point guard/shooting guard, was a four-year letterwinner for the Lions. He earned First Team All-Portage Trail Conference (PTC) and First Team All-District in both his junior and senior seasons. As a senior he was named to the First Team All-Inland Northeast District. He became Lake Center's sixth 1000-point career scorer in February and averaged more than 17 points per game while serving as team captain. His on-court successes led to an invitation to participate in the Summit County versus Stark County All-Stars game. As a sophomore he earned Honorable Mention All-PTC honors.

Academically, Bower maintained a 3.93 weighted GPA throughout high school and will be enrolled in the bachelor's degree in business administration at Kent State Tuscarawas.

His community service includes serving at a youth camp in Parma, assisting in cleaning up part of a state forest in Georgia and serving food, writing letters of encouragement and sweeping the chapel at the Haven of Rest homeless shelter in Akron on multiple occasions.

"I am very excited to have Ethan commit to us ," said Richard Tharp, Head Basketball Coach for Kent State Tuscarawas. "He is really going to give our outside shooting a boost and has a reputation of being one of the hardest workers on his team. It will be a joy to help Ethan continue to develop his skills at the collegiate level and also deepen his commitment to our campus and community."

Kent State Tuscarawas is a member of the United States Collegiate Athletic Association (USCAA).

Ethan Bower is supported by his family and Lake Center Christian administrators and coaches during his signing.
