Kent State University at Tuscarawas is announcing the signing of a 2022 Ridgewood High School senior to their basketball team.

On May 13, Braden Maleski signed a National Letter of Intent to play for the Golden Eagles.

Maleski, primarily a point guard/shooting guard, was a two-year letterwinner in basketball for the Generals. He earned East District Special Mention honors his senior year and District 5 Honorable Mention as a junior. He was also a two-year letter winner as a wideout for the Generals football team and was a one-year letter winner in baseball.

Academically, he earned First Honors as a freshman and is on the merit role as a senior. He volunteers at the elementary school as a role model and tutor for younger students and is active in the Secret Santa program as well.

He will pursue a bachelor's of business administration degree at Kent State Tuscarawas while minoring is sports management.

"Braden is a knock-down shooter and we are very glad to have him," said Richard Tharp, Head Basketball Coach for Kent State Tuscarawas. "He has shown great range from the outside, but can create off the bounce as well. He really fits the role of a team leader and shows great confidence and trust as a teammate."
