Red Devils Weaver Commits to Golden Eagles Basketball

Kent State University at Tuscarawas is announcing the signing of a 2022 Campbell Memorial High School senior to their basketball team.

On May 17, Jameer Weaver signed a National Letter of Intent to play for the Golden Eagles.

Weaver, a point guard, is a two-time Mahoning Valley Athletic Conference (MVAC) First Team selection and a two-time First Team All-Mahoning County honoree for the Red Devils. In addition, he was an All-MVAC Second Team player as a junior. Weaver was the MVAC Assist leader in 2021-22 and was also on the Ohio High School Athletic Association Northeast District Third Team.

Academically, he was on the Honor Roll during the 2020-21 academic year and received the Perfect Attendance Award for 2018-2019 year. He has served as a Food Pantry Volunteer for four years (2019-2022).

He will pursue a Bachelor's in Criminology and Justice Studies at Kent State Tuscarawas.

"I am really excited to have Jameer commit to us," said Richard Tharp, Head Basketball Coach for Kent State Tuscarawas. "He knows the floor, is very athletic and has great passing skills and head-up skills that are necessary at this level. We know he has the ability to grow into a more complete player and fill some of the leadership needs that we have as a team."

Kent State Tuscarawas is a member of the United States Collegiate Athletic Association (USCAA).
