Kent State University at Tuscarawas is announcing the signing of a 2022 Edison High School senior to their softball team. On April 4, 2022, Khloe Shannon signed a National Letter of Intent to play softball for the Golden Eagles.

Shannon, whose primarily positions are third base and catcher, plays for the Wildcats softball team. She has played softball since the age of three and also has three years of travel ball experience. In 2021 she won the Edison Central League Hit-A-Thon with a 272 foot blast.

She will seek a degree in veterinary technology at KSU Tuscarawas and is a three-year Academic Letter achiever. She is also a three-year choir member and was a member of the National Beta Club.

On the community service side, Shannon volunteers at the Hospice Community Store, was a Brightway S.T.A.R mentor during her freshman, sophomore and junior years and was a member of the Girl Scouts for 10 years---having served as a Cadette Leader for two years.

"Khloe has the drive to succeed at the collegiate level," said Chuck Peach, Head Softball Coach for Kent State Tuscarawas. "She has flown under the radar, but can hit with power and really drive the ball. She is also a high achiever in the classroom and has great compassion for those in her community, those are all qualities that make her a solid addition to our team."
