Kent State University at Tuscarawas is announcing the signing of a 2020 Tuscarawas Valley High School senior to their women's basketball team. On May 5, 2020, Lilli Peterson signed a National Letter of Intent to play for the Golden Eagles.

Peterson was a four-year letter winner for the Trojans basketball team and earned Second Team Inter Valley Conference (IVC) North Division honors after her senior year, along with First Team Best of Preps, selection to the District 5 East-West All Star game, Honorable Mention District 5 and Special Mention East District. She received an IVC Honorable Mention in her sophomore year and silver and gold certificates from the Ohio High School Basketball Coaches Association (OHSBCA) scholarship society. The OHSCBA recognizes juniors and seniors who have high marks in academics, citizenship and sportsmanship along with the achievement of a 3.2 Grade Point Average for five semesters for juniors and seven semesters for seniors. Peterson also lettered in soccer for four years at TVHS having played on the boys soccer team and received the coach's award.

She has earned a spot on the academic Honor Roll for several years and earned two academic letters. She assists at soccer and basketball camps for younger kids and also volunteers time at the Humane Society.

"What's not to like about Lilli Peterson," said Wallace Stuchul, Head Women's Basketball Coach for Kent State Tuscarawas. "Lilli is a gamer and showed up for every practice during her junior year of basketball after having her ACL repaired. She has a lot of heart and bounced back in a big way during her senior year. She is just one of those rare players who gladly meets every challenge head on."

Kent State Tuscarawas is a member of the United States Collegiate Athletic Association (USCAA).
