On Saturday, the Golden Eagles volleyball team made a lengthy two-and-one-half hour drive east of Pittsburgh to New Kensington for a tri match. The return trip was very enjoyable following a KSU Tusc sweep of their opponents in two 3-0 straight set wins.
In the opener, the Eagles out-dueled host Penn State New Kensington in the first set and won by a 26-24 count. The last two sets were not as close as the navy and gold took care of business 25-18 and 25-16 to down the Lions.
The second match against Westmoreland County Community College wasn't as close and the Eagles were never headed in their 25-13, 25-11, 25-7 victory. The winners dominated the Wolfpack from start to finish to improve their season record to 6-2, having won six of their last seven matches.
On Wednesday, the Golden Eagles will host Lakeland Community College, a team they won their first match of the season against, 3-2. The match will begin at 6:00 p.m. and admission is $5 at the door.
