Kent State University at Tuscarawas is announcing the signing of a 2020 Indian Valley High School senior to their women's basketball team. On May 30, 2020, Casey Scott signed a National Letter of Intent to play for the Golden Eagles.

Scott was a three-year letter winner for the Braves basketball team and earned Third Team East District, Second Team District 5 and Second Team Inter Valley Conference honors her senior year. She was also recognized as a "Student Athlete on Fire" by HRN Construction. She finished her career as the holder of three school records; most blocks in a game (5), most blocks in a season (32) and most career blocks with 79. During her senior year she averaged 8.7 points per game, 6.4 rebounds per game and 1.4 blocks per game.

She made the honor roll for all four years of high school and will major in veterinary technology at KSU Tuscarawas.

Scott was active in the Indian Valley FFA where she held the office of Student Advisor and was also involved in many leadership activities including Share A Christmas and the Thanksgiving food drive. Casey is a 10-year member of the Stone Creek Peas and Carrots 4-H Club. Her projects include pygmy goats, dairy steers, dairy heifers, and beef feeder calf that she shows at the Tuscarawas County Fair. She is also a member of the Junior Fair Board.

"Casey is a ball hawk and can really mix things up under the basket," said Wallace Stuchul, Head Women's Basketball Coach for Kent State Tuscarawas. "She can be really aggressive and has an all-around solid game. We definitely expect her to help control the tempo of the game with the way she boards the ball and contests shots."

Kent State Tuscarawas is a member of the United States Collegiate Athletic Association (USCAA).
